Description
This French castle was the inspiration for Versailles. It was built for Fouquet, Finance Steward to Louis XIV. The king was so outraged that anyone would outdo him, that he seized all Fouguet's estates and imprisoned him for life. Louis XIV then hired the same architect to build Versailles.
